Responsibilities of the Research Programs Coordinator
(Formerly “Sponsored Programs Officer”)
Oversight of summer undergraduate research program
- Promote summer research opportunities (both on and off campus) available to Trinity students
- Distribute and collect applications for Trinity undergraduate research awards; notify students of awards
- Distribute and collect stipend and housing award forms
- Coordinate with Residential Life, Conferences and Special Programs, Student Accounts, and the Registrar
- Handle all aspects of the Summer Undergraduate Research Conference (keynote speaker, conference program, logistics, etc.)
- Organize educational enrichment programs for summer researchers
- Maintain records of Trinity students performing undergraduate research (both on and off campus) during the summer and academic year
- Maintain education / employments records of Trinity alumni who conducted undergraduate research
- Maintain and disseminate information about student and faculty research accomplishments supported by external grants.
Develop Trinity University’s Research Grants Portfolio
- Assist faculty in identifying external funding sources
- Assist faculty in the preparation and submission of research proposals to external funding agencies
- Maintain records of pending and active external grants
- Coordinate with Advancement/Development on research funding opportunities
- Assist the Office of Academic Affairs in collection of data/information related to research and education
- Assist research directors with assessment of student learning outcomes
- Maintain Academic Affairs’ web pages related to research
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs for Budget and Research
